Effective Communication

This interactive workshop provides employees and managers an opportunity to assess their communication challenges, identify areas for improvement and practice their verbal and non-verbal communication skills.


Participants engage in a listening skills evaluation self-assessment and a communication style assessment.  A combination of facilitated discussion and hands-on experiential techniques are then used to help participants assess their communication needs and assemble a personalized action plan.


Clients are able to choose between half day and full day workshops depending on the depth and specialization of their learning goals.  These workshops can be customized to accommodate a specific client’s needs and goals.

Topics and issues covered in either the half or full day workshops can include but are not limited to:

  • Importance of effective communication skills
  • Listening and communication style self-assessment tools
  • Active listening and non-verbal cues
  • Highlighting group goals and what is important to others
  • Dealing with high emotions during conversations
  • Committing to action
  • Communicating responsibilities


A one-hour lunchtime seminar is also available to provide a broad overview of effective communication.  Participants will become aware of the importance of communication in this educational seminar.
